Signal Supervisor
Position Overview
The main function of the role will be to manage the provision of inspection, testing, maintenance and minor renewals activities to ensure the operational availability of the Signaling infrastructure in compliance with engineering standards and specifications.
Roles and Responsibility
• Maintain a high profile in the promotion of safe working conditions and practices so as to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and Contractors
• Provide technical and professional review for the Section in all areas, e.g. signalling structure conditions, work methods, budget preparation, costing, capital justifications, etc. to ensure technical consistency and professionalism within the Section

• Provide project coordination of technical activities and management of supplier and subcontractors for the delivery of products and systems assurance
• Review, initiate, direct and implement research to ensure the ongoing application of new technology in signalling.
• Review system interfaces, testing specifications and reports ensuring all electrical function and safety requirements are considered and complete in the normal maintenance schedules
• Ensure product compliance is maintained, Identify, manage and closeout safety risks.
• Liaises with Manager on more complicated problems/anomalies and discusses solutions/seeks advice. Reviews end-users requirements, co-ordinates schedules and work execution programs.
• Responsible for the support of Company Safety, environment and Quality policies and programs, and carrying out specific duties and responsibilities related to his job as spelled out in Management system documentation, policies, procedures, local documentation, Management System Manual, Safety Manual and other related documents.
• Undertakes similar and related tasks and duties as directed by Manager.
• Act as primary contact for the implementation of Quality Assurance within infrastructure, through involvement and participation so as to ensure a timely integration of the Q&A
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience
Academic Qualifications:
• University degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Professional Qualifications:
• Signalling certificate Driver License (Car and Heavy Vehicle)
• 10 years’ experience on Railway Maintenance (Signaling and Power Supply, conventional Line up to High speed Lines/ ETCS - ERTMS)
• Switching authorization (Middle and High Voltage Systems)
• MS Office must be standard
• Can read or use SAP; Tilos; Primavera or equal Milestone Schedules / Reports
Experience:
• Proven knowledge of ETCS-signalling system
Other Skills:
• English as first language or advanced level of written and verbal skill
• Full driving license
• Extensive knowledge of standards for signaling infrastructure
• Extensive experience in electronic products related to railway operations
• Extensive experience in power systems
• Knowledge of SAP Maintenance module
• Up-to-date knowledge of latest signaling technologies
• Good planning skills
• Analytical skills for problem solving
• Experience in writing company standards
• Knowledge of auditing techniques; and
• Recognized training qualification
• Proven ability to deliver allocated elements of a quality management system
