Maintenance Technical Officer
Position Overview
This position is primarily responsible for supporting the maintenance organization, managing data, and generating reports to facilitate efficient and effective monitoring of asset performance and maintenance delivery.
Furthermore, this position involves overseeing contractor performance against established targets and actively reviewing and implementing best practices.
Roles and Responsibility
• Collect and analyze asset data, including maintenance records, performance indicators, and operational statistics, to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare regular reports and dashboards summarizing asset performance, reliability, and efficiency metrics.
• Monitor the performance of individual systems and the ERM infrastructure to ensure they meet safety and operational standards.
• Identify and investigate deviations from performance targets and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to plan and schedule maintenance activities based on data-driven insights and historical performance trends.
• Assist in developing maintenance schedules that minimize downtime and maximize fleet availability.
• Maintain accurate and organized databases of asset-related information, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and performance records.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process improvements and best practices.
• Carry out any other task or work assigned by the Maintenance Assurance Manager.
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience
Academic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Professional Qualifications:
• Professional qualification or certification from a related professional body, e.g., the Institution of Mechanical Engineering or others, is an advantage.
Experience:
• 2 years or more of relevant, experience in technical maintenance, preferably in railway or transportation projects.
• Understanding of railway systems, including rolling stock and infrastructure.
• Knowledge of maintenance management (e.g., CMMS) or safety standards is an advantage.
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of railway standards, safety regulations, and maintenance protocols.
Specific Requirements
• Out-of-hours attendance, exceptional duty, or travelling.
• On-Call responsibility
