Inventory Systems Specialist
Position Overview
This role is the focal point for interaction between the internal customer, procurement and logistics teams; responsible for the accuracy of the data stored in the companies computerized system, gathering, understanding and communicating - inventory related requirements into deliverable strategies and actions that meet customer demand. To ensure that both Etihad Rail and the JV data bases are aligned for ease of controlling and transparency of all stock held and the movement of all items.
Roles and Responsibility
• Coordinate with internal customer to update the information in the Item Master Database.
• To ensure the accuracy of the information held in the Item Master Database.
• To update Master Data information as required.
• Interact with Internal customers to gather the information and communicate department specific requirements and translate the same into actionable procurement activities.
• Manage the relationship with the Procurement team on behalf of the internal customer and constantly seek ways to improve performance levels.
• Liaise with the Logistics Senior Manager on quality, cost and delivery issues to ensure that the required quantities of materials are available in a timely manner to meet internal demand.
• To liaise with procurement when new item is ordered and update Master Database.
• To review the information held in the Item Master Database and check for anomalies
• Once the internal customer representatives have agreed minimum and maximum stock levels to input that data and to monitor the outcome.
• Demand Management – Review material demand planning with internal customer on a regular (eg, monthly) basis.
• Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels and inform Logistics team to issue Purchase Requisition.
• Provide periodic management information reports to the Logistics Senior Manager, as detailed/required.
• To carry out investigation in co-ordination with Senior Store man, for stock taking anomalies and provide Senior Logistics Manager, reasons and trends for the anomalies.
• To be the Subject Matter Expert in the use of SAP, and to ensure that all Logistics staff are fully trained in the use of the Material Management module, for the work that they are to carry out.
• To promote health and safety and to set example to junior staff.
• To provide and enhance SAP IT solutions for the Logistics Operation for the JV operation.
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience
Academic Qualifications:
• Bachelors or equivalent
Professional Qualifications:
• High level of affinity to and experience with Business computing solutions, ideally also with SAP
Experience:
• 5 - 10 years proven experience in a similar asset intensive business
• Experience working for an Operations & Maintenance Company
• Preferred rail, shipping, oil and gas or airline experience
Other Skills:
• Excellent command of English both written and oral
• Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to build relationships
• Excellent command in micro soft office
