Ground Staff
Position Overview
The post holder will directly contribute to Etihad Rail’s service delivery and influence the service offering to our customers. This position is responsible for safe train preparation and inspection to ensure a right time departure against the service timetable. The post holder will be required to carry out tasks to maintain the work environment in a high state of cleanliness and will complete repairs to rolling stock and infrastructure as and when required. The role is responsible for the direct oversight of train loading activities and will be accountable for the integrity and security of train loads dispatched from their point of origin.
Roles and Responsibility
• Train preparation, shunting and marshalling,
• Train dispatch,
• Problem solving,
• Railway yard management,
• Safe loading of trains,
• Operation of train loading and unloading equipment as required,
• Minor repairs to rolling stock and infrastructure,
• Housekeeping,
• Data input as required to support service delivery,
• Real time reporting of service affecting issues.
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience
Academic Qualifications:
• Standard High School Education
Other Qualifications:
• Safety focused,
• Highly motivated and committed to work,
• Flexible approach to work,
• Work as a part of a team,
• Work to instruction,
• Prepared to meet shift and weekend work requirements.
Experience:
• Previous rail experience preferred but not essential
Other Skills:
• Advanced level of written and verbal skills in English,
• UAE Driving License,
• Analytical skills for problem solving with ability to use IT systems,
• Ensure compliance with company’s Rule, Procedures and Instructions.
