Description:
The Freight Facility Foreman is responsible for safely managing the day-to-day operations at terminals and for the overall compliance to rules, regulations, and procedures by the Terminal Operator Team.
- Manage the day-to-day running of Etihad Rail Freight Terminals including DG operations as required,
- Shift supervision of the Terminal Operator teams,
- Manages the handover between main-line and Freight Facility for the territories under control,
- Operate signalling and route setting equipment to facilitate train arrival and departure,
- Operate signalling equipment to facilitate any required shunting activities,
- Monitors telecommunications equipment (including Emergency Phones, Administrative Phones, CRs, Network alarms as vital, non-vital, BMIS, GSM-R, Master Clock).
- Manages regular and emergency calls (trough ICSS and telephones on the desk).
- Responsible for the effective handover to the relieving controller (shift handover) of the current rail and equipment status, abnormal events, faults, ongoing maintenance activities, outstanding works. Detects alarms that are sent from APS and check and modify, through the dedicated area of the ICSS iHMI, the RFID tags readings and perform synchronization with local controller.
- Plan and manage the activity rail yard to maximise the efficiency of the terminal,
- Input data as required to support the Terminals Operating System,
- Oversee rail terminal maintenance activities as required,
- Monitor the Terminals Operations team staffing levels in accordance with the plan,
- Report any shortfall of Terminal Operations team to the location manager for correction,
- Lead and assist the Terminals Operations team to ensure total compliance with all safety requirements.
Academic Qualifications:

Experience:
- Previous rail or terminal operations experience preferred but not essential
Essential Requirements:
- Advanced level of written and verbal skills in English,
- UAE Driving License,
- Analytical skills for problem solving with ability to use IT systems,
- Ensure compliance with ER Rulebook and applicable Procedures, and Instructions.
